Phantom of the Opera

Le Fantôme de l'Opéra : é uma novela francesa escrita por Gaston Leroux.
A primeira versão de O fantasma da ópera' para o cinema foi em um filme mudo e em preto-e-branco, realizado em 1925

Seguiram-se outras versões igualmente populares, incluindo a da década de 40, dirigida por Arthur Lubin, e com Claude Rains no papel-título. Em 1962, o estúdio inglês Hammer produziu a sua versão, numa adaptação com enfoque mais humano e trágico do personagem. Destaque também para a versão rock-musical de 1974, dirigida por Brian De Palma e estrelada por Paul Williams, intitulada como O fantasma do paraíso. Já no teatro, há o célebre musical da Broadway escrito por Andrew Lloyd Webber, considerada a maior atração teatral de todos os tempos.

Em 2004, foi novamente encenado para o cinema, dirigido pelo renomado diretor Joel Schumacher e com Gerard Butler na pele do fantasma, Emmy Rossum como Christine e Patrick Wilson Raoul, fechando o triângulo amoroso.
